The function of the Eustachian tube within the ear is to drain the middle ear , let air pass through to clear it and also to protect it. The tube connects itself from the middle ear to the pharynx. If this does not occur the ear can lead to middle ear inflammation( infection in the middle ear more common to children because they have shorter Eustachian tube which offers weak protection) The older humans get the longer the tube grows , when we are younger the tube is short.

    Tympanic membrane
Also known as the ear drum , the membrane will branch out across the ear canal. the function of this part of the ear is converting/transferring vibrations to energy into the middle section of the ear to 3 bones located in the middle of the ear . The picture below indicates where the Tympanic membrane is located at.

The auditory nerve is the last of the line of the ear which then transfers the impulses to the brain. The diagram below shows where the auditory nerve is located.

but not much with humans . The human eye is responsive to a wide rang of wavelengths within the ranges of 350 to 750 nm .
