Describe the anatomy and function of the human eye, including the:


Conjunctiva:
This component of the eye the clear mucous membrane which contain cells , it covers the Sclera(white section of the eye).It acts as a lubricant for the eye ball that produces tears and mucous.The picture below shows the conjunctiva around the eye.

Cornea:

The cornea is the clear anterior section which covers the pupil, iris and the front chamber , with the help of the lens they refract light .The picture below shows whwere the cornea is located on the eye ball.

Choroid (choroid coat):
This section of the eye is the vascular membrane which contains large pigment cells which lie between the retina and the Sclera. The diagram below shows where the choroid is located among the other components of the eye anatomy.

Retina:

The retina is consist of several layers which include a layer that holds rods and cones which are receptor cells, which help detect light the picture below indicates where the retina lies.

Iris:

The Iris is a membrane that lies in the eyes and are the ones who control the amount of light that can access the retina. the picture below shows the section of the eye where the Iris would be located at.

Lens:

They are the flexible clear structure within the eyes which allow light to enter at the back of the eye. which then will allow light to hit the retina. The picture below will show where the lens are located.

Aqueous and vitreous humor:

they Aqueous humor is a watery fluid that is able to maintain the shape of the eye , also the vitreous humar is the jelly like substance. The picutre above shows where both these are located at within the eye.

Ciliary body:

The ciliary body consist of muscles that are in charge of the shape of the lens and also have them for support. the picture above states where the ciliary body is located

Optic nerve:

They are groups of sensory neurons that transmit impulses which are generated to the brain. The picture above shows where the optical nerve is located.
